On Episode 5 of the Wedding Mavericks podcast I am in conversation with Cath Broadhead from Raspberry Studio also known in the wedding stationery world as Raspberry Toast.

Cath trained as a textile designer and ran a commercial design studio working with big international brands designing their products and selling to businesses around the world. As things progressed Cath decided to set up her own business and Raspberry Studio was born.

After getting married and designing her own wedding stationery, Cath entered the wedding industry as a bespoke wedding stationery designer alongside other aspects of freelance design work. Cath is passionate about creating one-of-a-kind designs, and bringing her couples visions to life, as well as working with wedding suppliers and business owners to create beautiful designs and bespoke branding.

Listening and understanding what the client wants

There is some great insight from the this conversation into the customer service and selling aspect of a wedding business, especially one involving bespoke design. We also discuss how important it is to understand your numbers, the ‘up’s and the down’s as Cath calls it and the importance of maintaining a good balance with your home life when you are a small business owner.
